21 things I purchased in 2025 that changed my life

My CPA and I are hosting a free online workshop on how to pay less tax TOMORROW at 2pm. Register here.

I don't go nuts with money and I don't live in a massive house. I don't have a beach house. I don't have a mountain house. No car collection and no Rolex watches.

But I have spent a lot of energy trying to figure out what stuff I can own that will really improve my life.

This list isn't right for everyone. And another thing. None of this stuff moves the needle much if you don't enjoy your life and enjoy the people around you.

It won't make you happy if you are sad or make you enjoy life if you aren't having fun.

I'm not paid a commission to promote any of these things.

Ok lets go:

#1: A Toto Washlet Toilet Seat - $1,000

This is an absolute no brainer. I'll never use paper to smear poop into my crack again when I'm in my own home. Run an extension chord if you have to. Pay an electrician to put an outlet behind your toilet if you have $500.

I do have a regret though. I wish I would have just spent $4k to put the whole toilet in. The seat top works fine but the hole is smaller and not ideal for the boys. They rub on the front if I don't sit way back.

If on a budget, get just the seat. If not, get the whole toilet.

I got the C5 for every toilet in my house.

I wish I would have gotten this one at least for my master. On the list to upgrade.

#2: Specialized Turbo Levo SL Kids - $3,000

I bought my 7 year old a pedal assist mountain bike for $3k last year. I know, I know, this is out of reach for most people.

But it has been absolutely amazing.

The problem with getting out on bikes for kids is the hills. This makes my now 8 year old faster up the hills than I am. He can rip mountain bike trails. The battery lasts all day. It rides easily on the back of my truck right next to my Trek Fuel exe which I absolutely love.

Don't skimp on the helmet. The specialized Gambit in Small fits my 8 year old great and I wear an XL. Do not let your kid ride a bike without a full face helmet unless you are okay with an ER trip and lifetime scars. Get a cheap (but light) full face helmet if you can't afford teh Gambit.

#3: Birkenstock Arizona Essentials - $50

I love the support of Berks but I hate the weight. The "essential" version is plastic and awesome. I have 5 pairs scattered around my house and don't walk around indoors without them. Excellent.

#4: Standing Desk + Ultrawide Monitor - $1,000

I got this desk for my office and it is awesome. I also love my LG ultrawide monitor.

#5: A remote personal trainer who is a spine / posture specialist - $90

I've been working (via webcam) for 1 hour a week with a lady named Andrea. She was a ballet dancer for 15 years and is now a personal trainer who works remotely with folks.

Her specialty is the spine and posture but she also works me out and helps me stay mobile and strong in the core. I will likely work with her for the rest of my life and online work is highly productive once you get used to it.

She charges $90 a session but my posture has greatly improved. Which is good for confidence, longevity, and just general attractiveness, professionalism in my opinion.

Let me know if you'd like an intro.

#6: A good, old book - $14

This book has been excellent. Highly recommend picking it up.

#7: A killer financial analyst - $2,500

I hired a killer financial analyst from Egypt who can work magic in Excel / Power BI. He works in underwriting for my self storage acquisitions arm. The best part is he makes $2,500 per month.

If you're interested in somebody like this, respond and I'll send you a profile. I interviewed like 5 and they were all awesome.

#8: A TrackmanIO golf Simulator - $50,000

I got a killer golf simulator added to my office. It has been amazing.

Had it about a year and still use it several times per week. My kids are also falling in love with the game. The kids games on there are awesome.

I paid $50k for this and got it done by an entrepreneur who owns InHome Golf. I asked James Laidlaw, the founder to come on my podcast. He shared how he left a $170K sales job to build his business. You can listen to the full conversation on Apple , Spotify or YouTube.

#9: A better toothbrush - $40

Nobody in your family should be using a toothbrush that isn't this on.

Absolute no brainer to use the statistical king of removing plaque. I also don't use flouride toothpaste becuase its horrible for you. I like NOBS.

#10: A Sauna - $7,000

This was a 2024 purchase but I still use it 3x a week.

$7k all-in. Best money I've ever spent. Bought it through Nordica Sauna.

#11: A longevity retreat - $50,000

Also 2024. I spent $50k on a executive health retreat.

Found a lot of problems. Heart scans. Tested my poop. Body MRIs. Harvested stem cells. Peptides. Fasting. Genetic testing. You name it.

The guy is now my wifes doctor. And both my parents. It has been a game changer.

Here is a document of how I'm changing my lifestyle and a bit about what I'm learning. Not medical advice.

#12: A Garmin Watch with a flashlight - $999

I bought the Epix but you can find them for $300 with the light. It is an absolute game changer. I will never not wear a garmin, ever.

I use the light 3x a day, at least.

#13: Wild Roman Face Moisturizer - $33

If you're going to do one thing to look younger, put a face moisturizer on at night.

I really like this one. And I'm an investor. The founder Sahil is also a great friend of mine.

But it's freaking good. If you're on a budget.

#14: Invisalign - $5,000

I spent $10k for my wife and I to do Invisalign.

I loved it. Straight teeth matter. Don't send your kid off to college without perfect teeth either.

#15: A great sock and underwear- $24 and $40

I have 20 pairs of these and they are all I wear. Wool so they dry quick and they last forever.

Don't put plastic on your balls. I like these a lot.

#16: New Balance 880 - $150

The best running shoes and run around town shoes I've ever owned.

#17: A butter dish - $20

Having fresh butter sitting out, soft, in your kitchen, is a game changer. Get real butter and put it on your counter.

#18: A roof top tent - $3,000

My truck is pimped out and my family enjoys the hell out of it.

Highly recommend the iKamper 3.0. Maybe they have a new version by now.

#19: All wood hangers - $200

I got all cedar hangers for my closet. They are so much nicer than the plastic crap.

Wish I would have done it a long time ago.

#20: This cheap coat - $88

Here. It's warm and it looks cool. I like it.

#21: A jet - $1 million + $150,000 / year

I bought a Vision Jet with 3 other partners. Its amazing for my family and hauls me, my wife, 3 kids, nanny + pilot from Atlanta to NY with ease. Highly recommend. $150k allows me to fly 3x a month where I need to go for business. About 100 hours a year and it hauls 350 mph. I'd rather have a PC12 but they are 2x the money.

A few other places I spend my money that have massive ROI For my family:

A nanny. Full time. $50,000 / year. A lot of executive assistant tasks and she sets the coffee pot the night before. Makes my kids lunches. Cleans the kitchen and empties the dishwasher. She is an excellent cook. She travels on vacations with my family. The best money I spend. But make sure you set expectations very well right off the bat!

We created a 3 page document with how we operate and had ours sign an NDA and extensive employment contract. I recommend the same! Very hard to change somebody 4 months into a job but training them just how you want it done is easy!

A country club membership. $15,000 / year. A bargain at 2x the price. Events. A network. Family fun. A pool. Golf events.

A house cleaner. 1x a week. $7,000 / year. This one is also a no brainer even at lower income levels.

What did I miss? What would you add?

If you have any questions simply reply and I'll do my best to get back to you!

I have over 400 employees across my portfolio. I've been able to scale because of the people I've hired and delegated both tasks and decisions to. The beautiful thing about owning a business and hiring people is that I can work 40-50 hours per week (or zero if I want to!) but my team still works 16,000+ hours every week for me. They each add 40 hours of their own effort while I steer the ship and make key decisions that will move us all forward. This is why people, and the art of hiring and...
